Open House London event

This year's Open House London event takes place this weekend. A show case offering inspiration in the arena of eco-build friendly homes and offices to roof gardens, this event is now in it's 14th year. There are dozens of new homes to visit as well as offices, schools, theatres, galleries, studios and community centres. Architects and owners are on site to answer questions. In Southwark Emma Doherty and Amanda Megane have utilized a prefabricated panel system to create two wooden eco-houses with a greenroofed artist's studio in Southwark. In Notting Hill Alex Michaelis (architect to Conservative leader David Cameron) is opening his own family home which is partially underground incorporating a swimming pool and green roof. In Sutton the BedZed urban village scheme is open, completed by Bill Dunster Architects. Open House runs this Saturday & Sunday. Some properties require advance booking to view.
